Disney destinations are some of the best vacation destinations in the world! The parks and cruise ships are full of magic and fun! They're also always being updated and expanded to offer more attractions and experiences. Recently there have been many new and amazing announcements made about the Disney destinations! These announcements are just some of the reasons to start planning your next Disney vacation.
1. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge-The official name of the Star Wars lands being added to both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios is Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Both lands will allow guests to visit a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life – and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action. The lands will feature 2 major attractions that will offer guests a chance to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe like never before! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is set to open in both parks sometime in 2019.
2. Art of Marvel Hotel, Hotel New York, coming to Disneyland Paris-Disney's Hotel New York at Disneyland Paris is being "reImagined" into a new Marvel-themed wonderland. Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek said of this hotel, “I’m thrilled to announce that Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will transport our guests to the action-packed, inspiring world of Super Heroes including Iron Man, The Avengers, and Spider Man among others!”
3. Tron Attraction coming to Magic Kingdom- Disney's highest-rated attraction at Shanghai Disneyland is coming to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida! The TRON Lightcycle Power Run attraction at Shanghai Disneyland is a coaster-style attraction where riders board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles. It offers access into the energy, lights and excitement of TRON’s high-tech universe and is one of the most thrilling adventures at any Disney park. This new Tron attraction will sit in an entirely new area right next to Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom Park and is set to open in time for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary celebration in 2021.
4. New Beauty & the Beast show coming to Disney Cruise Line-A tale as old as time is coming to the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Dream! “Beauty and the Beast” aboard the Disney Dream will bring the timeless fable to life like never before, featuring a style of theater that interlaces classic storytelling elements with cutting-edge technology, to create a unique, theatrical experience in the 1,340-seat Walt Disney Theatre. “Beauty and the Beast” will debut during the Disney Dream voyage departing Nov. 6, 2017.
5. Mickey Mouse Attraction coming to Hollywood Studios- Disney's first Mickey-themed ride-through attraction, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, is coming to Hollywood Studios! With this attraction you’ll step through the movie screen and join Mickey and his friends like never before. You'll be put inside the wacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse Cartoon Short where you’re the star and anything can happen!
6. Spider-Man & Avengers Attractions coming to Disney California Adventure - the Guardians of the Galaxy in Disney California Adventure will be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive Super Hero universe at the park. These new stories will create a place where you can team up with your favorite Super Heroes like never before!
7. Ratatouille Attraction coming to Epcot - Disney•Pixar’s “Ratatouille”-inspired attraction will be added to the France Pavilion in World Showcase in Epcot. This attraction will be similar to the 4-D attraction Ratatouille: The Adventure that opened at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris in 2014. Guests will be able to shrink to Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds and smells of Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant. It is set to be open in time for Walt Disney World's 50th anniversary in 2021.
8. New Theater coming to Magic Kingdom-A new venue for world-class entertainment is coming to Main Street, U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. The new entertainment venue will be based on the iconic Willis Wood theater in 1920s Kansas City, where Walt lived after he left Marceline.
9. Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction coming to Epcot-Epcot’s brand new E-ticket attraction will be based on the rockin’ and action-packed world of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and is the next step in how guests can encounter these characters at the Walt Disney World Resort. This attraction will be added to Future World, adhering to the original vision of Epcot’s Future World as the place to experience the excitement and adventure offered by space travel.
10. Mission Space Themed Restaurant Coming to Epcot-A new restaurant is coming to Epcot that’ll offer amazing meals with spectacular views high above Earth – from space! This restaurant will be located adjacent to the park’s Mission: SPACE attraction and will invite guests to travel into space for amazing dining experiences in the stars.
11. Disney Riviera Resort (DVC) Coming to Walt Disney World-The 15th Disney Vacation Club property is coming and will be Disney Riviera Resort. This new resort will be added to Walt Disney World’s new Skyliner gondola line, adjacent to Caribbean Beach Resort. The resort will feature a rooftop restaurant with views of both Epcot's and Disney's Hollywood Sudios' nighttime spectaculars. Disney Riviera Resort is set to open in Fall 2019, with approximately 300 units spread across a variety of accommodation types.
12. Star Wars Themed Resort coming to Walt Disney World-A revolutionary new vacation experience is coming to Walt Disney World. This new experience will be a living adventure that allows guests to immerse themselves in an entirely new form of Disney storytelling. “It’s unlike anything that exists today.” Bob Chapek said. “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”
13. Toy Story Land Opening Summer 2018 at Hollywood Studios-In 2018, you’ll find yourself shrunk to the size of a toy to explore the world of Andy’s backyard with your favorite Toy Story characters, including Woody and Buzz. Toy Story Land will feature two new themed attractions; first – Slinky Dog Dash – will be a family coaster attraction you’ll want to ride again and again, and second - Alien Swirling Saucers - is designed as a toy play set that Andy got from Pizza Planet. Aliens are flying around in their toy flying saucers and trying to capture your rocket toy vehicle with “The Claw.”
14. Skyliner Gondolas coming to Walt Disney World-A brand new transportation system is coming to the Walt Disney World Resort. This system will connect Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts and other locations with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.
15. Minnie-Van Transportation Service coming to Walt Disney World-Another new transportation service featuring vans themed to the one-and-only Minnie Mouse is now available at the Walt Disney World Resort! The Minnie vans will take you everywhere you want to go at the Walt Disney World Resort, and you’ll ride in Minnie’s classic style.
16. New China Pavilion Movie coming to Epcot-Disney is creating a new film for the China pavilion at Epcot that’ll feature the splendor and majesty of that amazing country – and they’re doing it with some new technology. Disney has developed a next-generation digital camera system, much as they did for Soarin’. Their teams are going to be taking this immersive camera system on the road first to film a brand new seamless Circle-Vision show for the China pavilion.
17. New Disney Cruise Line Ship Announced-Disney Cruise Line is planning not two, but three new ships in the next phase of expansion! This additional ship will be built at the same shipyard and is scheduled to be completed in 2022. By the time these three ships are sailing, the size of the fleet will have nearly doubled! That means more families than ever before will be visiting spectacular destinations around the globe and creating magical memories at sea!
18. New Halloween Overlay for Cars Land in Disney California Adventure-This year, you can get into the spooky spirit at Disney California Adventure park, with all-new ghoulish delights at Cars Land. Cars Land will get all decked out with four-wheeled frights as the citizens of Radiator Springs don their Halloween costumes and decorate their homes to celebrate Haul-O-Ween. From Fillmore’s Jack-Oil Lanterns and Flo’s Spider-Car to Witchy Miss Lizzie’s shop, everybody’s doing all they can to turn Radiator Springs into Radiator Screams! You can experience some of your favorite Cars Land attractions in new ways as Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree becomes Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree and Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters transforms into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween.
19. Paradise Pier Becomes Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Summer 2018-A new immersive experience is coming to Disney California Adventure next year! More of your favorite Pixar stories will come to Disney California Adventure park when Paradise Pier becomes the new Pixar Pier. You will discover whimsical neighborhoods filled with your friends from “The Incredibles,” “Inside Out” and even more of your pals from “Toy Story.”
20. Pixar Festival brings new Fireworks to Disneyland 2018-Experience the magical worlds of Pixar in brand new ways as the entire Disneyland Resort comes alive with some of your favorite stories during the Pixar Festival. At Disneyland park, this incredible celebration will feature a brand-new fireworks spectacular as well as the return of the guest favorite, Pixar Play Parade!
