Captain Marvel starts filming in Los Angeles and Louisiana.


Marvel Studios has started work on their latest film, “Captain Marvel.” Shooting throughout the Los Angeles, California area including Fresno, California, and locations in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans, the film is scheduled for U.S. theaters on March 8, 2019.

“Captain Marvel” is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck with an amazing group of talented writers, Meg LeFauve (“Inside Out,” “The Good Dinosaur”), Nicole Perlman (upcoming “First Man,” Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy”), Geneva Robertson-Dworet (“Tomb Raider,” upcoming “Sherlock Holmes 3”), Liz Flahive & Carly Mensch (“Glow”), and Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck.

The film stars Academy Award® winner Brie Larson, along with a star studded cast including, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou , Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, McKenna Grace, Clark Gregg and Jude Law.

"Captain Marvel" brings a new era of the Marvel history to the screen. Set in the 1990s, the film brings Carol Danvers to the screen. When Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Danvers steps up and ultimately becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes.

Produced by Kevin Feige and the team of executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patty Whitcher and Stan Lee. Lars Winther serving as co-producer/first assistant director and David Grant serving as co-producer, "Captain Marvel" is a destined to be the next big box office hit for Marvel Studios.
