Retirement is a lifetime goal that most of us look forward to and plan for years! Almost from the moment we begin working we start the countdown to retirement. Recently my husband had the privilege of early retirement , 3 years ahead of schedule. While we are far from rich, he made some smart or perhaps lucky financial decisions that allowed him this luxury.
He has been home aka retired now for almost four months. During this time along with sleeping in and staying up late watching his favorite reality shows, he has also jumped head first into his new career as a travel agent. This not only includes long hours of computer work, learning all about the various locations, promotions and individual certifications but also in our case traveling to many beautiful cities and countries for first hand knowledge.
While he spends most days sitting in conference rooms taking notes and pictures or walking miles and miles around breathtaking resorts while the guests lounge around the pools enjoying cocktails or working on their tans, he is doing so in some of the most incredible locations and that is priceless. His training this summer and fall have taken him on the following Amazing Magical Adventures.
A few days in Florida included hanging out with Mickey and Friends at the Toy Story Land!
Enjoying Cuban food, specifically Mamey shakes and Bistec Empanizado in Miami with family!
A quick Bahamas cruise on the Norweigian Sun included a visit to their private island, Great Stirrup Cay and the opportunity to learn about the Norwegian Cruise Line
Cruising around the Caribbean on board the Carnival Conquest with visits to Couples and Sandals resorts provided the opportunity to experience Carnival service and resort inspections. The trip highlight was driving on the other side of the road in Jamaica which he checked off his bucket list.
Several visits to the gorgeous resorts in Cancun including his all time favorite - Hard Rock Riviera Maya where he earned WOW (Weddings on Water) certification and enjoyed an amazing week of food, fun and learning from some of the best in the business!
Celebrating his birthday at the Disneyland resort (his request) and then off to Cancun again for more fun in the Hard Rock sun for his surprise retirement party!

Upcoming trip to Dallas, road trip to New Orleans and more Carnival training to learn about group travels is on the agenda for next month. And finally last but by no means least is his well earned trip with his retirement buddy to the Philippines to round off his first 6 months of retirement.
Retirement has been very exciting and rewarding for Bob allowing him to pursue his dreams of traveling while starting a new career as a travel agent allows him to share his love of travel and all the Amazing Magical Adventures the world has to offer with his friends and family.
