Hollywood's El Capitan Theatre was the location for the world premiere of Disney and Pixar’s “Onward” tonight as favorite stars from the film, walked the famous red carpet.
Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia-Louis Dreyfus, Octavia Spencer, Mel Rodriguez, Kyle Bornheimer, Ali Wong, Tracey Ullman, Wilmer Valderrama, George Psarras, John Ratzenberger and Dave Foley were among the stars at tonight's celebration.
Director, Dan Scanlon, along with producer Kori Rae, and executive producer, Pete Docter were joined by screenwriters Keith Bunin and Jason Headley. Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna (original score composers), Brandi Carlile, who performs the original end-credit song for the film, and Phil Hanseroth & Tim Hanseroth, who wrote and produced the song with Carlile were also part of the premiere's VIP list.
"Onward" tells the story of teenage elf brothers, Ian and Barley Lightfoot's epic adventures as they try to enjoy one more day with their late dad. Through the magic of an old spell, the brothers conjour up their late dad but not all goes as planned when a glitch occurs. To fix the spell, Ian and Barley take off on journey which if all goes well would give them a chance to see dad before he fades away. With the help of mom, Laurel and The Manticore a creature that is part scorpion, bat and lion, the brothers achieve closure through an unexpected ending that will have the fans wiping away the tears.
The film, inspired by Director, Dan Scanlon's personal experiences with his brother, hits the theaters on March 6, 2020.
